Fire Up, Buttercup!
Welcome to the wild world of family and children's portrait photography at Faux-Toes {pronounced foh-tohs} where Kristen B. Roedner, pictured left, helps families (spitting images of one another) recognize the beauty before them (without the mess), to give them glimpses into the glorious future and to spread absolute joy. Life is too short, afterall!

Here as in life, anything can happen and that's why the flying pig is the mascot. Faux-Toes is headquartered in Lakeway, Texas some 20 beautiful miles due west of Keep Austin Weird. Call (512) 466-5577 or email kristen@faux-toes.com for more information about getting your "pitcher" took. Thanks for visiting and we hope to hear from you soon!
Last weekend I had the distinct pleasure of assisting a new friend and mucho inspiring photographer, Jennifer Cota at a wedding in Lakeway, my neighborhood. I was pleased as punch to do it, although a little apprehensive when Jenn told me that I'd be with the groomsmen and they wanted to frollick around the golf course at high noon in the middle of a heat wave. Saturday's forecast was no exception: 104 in the shade! I took a friend's advice and stocked up on the H2O then hit the pavement.  Below you'll see what great big fun we had hanging with the big ol guys.  I'm not kidding, several were collegiate football players! Thanks, Jennifer! and Thanks, John for putting up with all my silly ideas! Congratulations on  your nuptials!

My sweet friend Melissa is the proud Mama to two darling sons and one beautiful daughter.  Meet sweet C aged all of four weeks in these Faux-Toes. I instantly was enamored with her pudgey little hands and those sweet cheeks!  Melissa and I met at LHC's Mom2Mom in the fall of 2007.  I already adored her sons from their previous sessions and it is so funny to hear my daughter laugh and play with those silly boys. I'm already looking forward to our next playdate.  In the meantime, enjoy the sneak peeks!

Summer! What do we have? A great life!! These are the chants regularly heard around my friend's home during the good ol' summertime.  When she posted on Facebook that she had installed a revolving door leading directly to her pool, another friend and I packed up the chillens, peanut butter and ritz crackers and made a 200 mile bee line from different directions. It's one of those days I won't soon forget. It was just perfectly laid back and lots of fun. Thanks for putting up with our too-tired for life tantrums and inspiring my daughter to get over her fear of water!

Enjoy the snaps from the day!

Faux-Toes always has great fun capturing the girl scouts at camps during the summer. Last week, I joined the ladies at Zilker Park in Austin and we just laughed and laughed despite the heat.  This is the sneak peek for the corporate office as they prepare to print their upcoming calendar.  To see more of Faux-Toes, check out Girl Scout's Central Texas page.

Life is good.  I hail from a small, quaint town 50 miles outside of the big city (Houston). Lots and lots of good-hearted, fun-loving people call Liberty, Texas home and one of my favorites called me last winter to set up a portrait session in celebration of her two daughters graduations from THE University. One celebrated and achieved her undergrad degree and the other her Master's. As you'll soon see the girls are gorgeous! It was a hot night on campus... some 101 degrees, but these girls kept their cool and were up for all kinds of creativity -- just like their sweet Momma. Thank you "S's" I've never had so much fun in all my life. Enjoy the sneak peek, friends!
